What is One District One Product (ODOP)?

A visionary scheme launched by the Government of India to identify, promote, and scale the unique product of every district across the nation.

Indian village artisans making traditional products under ODOP scheme

Empowering Every District, Every Artisan, Every Product

Started in Uttar Pradesh in 2018 under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the ODOP scheme has grown into India's most celebrated initiative for local economic transformation. Today, it covers 770+ districts across 35 states and union territories, with over 1,200 unique products identified and promoted.

The core problem this scheme solves is simple yet profound: village artisans and small manufacturers produce world-class products but cannot reach national markets. They are forced to sell locally at throwaway prices while middlemen earn the profits. ODOP changes this.

Under ODOP, each district selects one signature product based on its existing ecosystem — be it textiles, handicrafts, food processing, agriculture, or metalwork. The government provides branding, market access, institutional support, and visibility.

When You Buy from ODOPKart, You're Not Just Buying a Product — You're Saving a Heritage

Behind every Banarasi silk saree, every Moradabad brass lamp, every Agra petha box — there is a family. A family whose grandfather taught their father the craft. A family who wakes up at 5 AM to weave, to shape, to create. A family who has been selling their products at ₹500 because they cannot reach you in Mumbai, Delhi, or Bangalore.

They are not asking for charity. They are asking for a fair market. They are asking that you, the consumer, get to buy the same quality that foreign buyers pay 10x for.

Every time you buy from ODOPKart:

A weaver in Varanasi gets ₹15,000 for her saree instead of ₹2,000 from the local trader.
A potter in Khurja can send his son to college instead of making him join the workshop at age 12.
A glass bangle maker in Firozabad can afford healthcare for his family.
A chikankari artisan in Lucknow can preserve a 400-year-old craft for the next generation.

This is not e-commerce. This is nation-building. This is Atmanirbhar Bharat in action.
